Preparing sandwiches

Serving drinks

What we do

The Christ Church Breakfast Run has been established for a number of years providing breakfast sandwiches, hot drinks and friendship at 8am every Saturday morning outside Bristol Bus Station to people in some of the most desperate and vulnerable situations.

Whatever their reason for coming to meet the Breakfast Run team on a Saturday morning, they are welcomed with compassion and love.

Sometimes just having someone to talk to who will listen without being judgmental means so much to our guests, many whom have lost faith in humanity.

How does it work?

We meet as a team of 4 or 5 people at 6.30am on a Saturday morning at the kitchen in Christ Church Clifton crypt to prepare burger and bacon baps, cold sandwiches and hot drinks. We take these out to the back of the bus station in central Bristol (the Bearpit exit) for 8am where we typically serve between 40 and 60 homeless/vulnerable people each Saturday.

As well as providing a hot breakfast we spend time listening to and chatting with the people who come. We are usually back at church by 9am to clear up and are finished by 9:30am.

We run an online rota which volunteers can put their name on as often (or rarely) as they like - there is no set commitment.

If this sounds interesting to you and you think you may like to join our team then please get in touch. We don't ask for a regular commitment; you just volunteer when you can and book yourself onto a team if there's a space available.
